The Knowledge ‘Neighborhood’ | Semantic SEO

April 15th, 2008

semantic seo When it comes to Search Engine Marketing and Keyword research, nothing is more important than knowing the ‘neighborhood’.

We think we’ve made it easy with our latest offering: Touch Cloud

I used to find it difficult, using the usual SEO Tools, to determine which anchor text best reflected the website when building links . So, probably the way most SEO solutions start, we set out to solve this problem as well as build something that was both effective and intuitive.

Quick Keyword Research Tool

It’s simple … if you are optimizing a website, then you must find all competing and supporting keywords. In other words, get to know the neighborhood. We’ve made it easy, Just enter your keyword phrase to instantly produce beautiful Clouds AND link structure, then generate content from the cloud (information pulse - not available with free edition). Click inside the cloud to investigate the neighborhood and produce spectacular relevant keyword phrases as tagged links.

What is Microformating?
Microformating provides a method of decentralized Taggingare you tired of visiting dozens of social networking sites to bookmark your favorite pages?

There are things on this page that you will not see unless you have the Firefox Microformat extensions installed.

tag cloud

This fast new solution generates Microformatted ‘clouds of relevance’ and … stay tuned as we continue to support Semantic Web initiatives such as SIOC and Scot Ontology’s. Every day, we contemplate ways to accurately present the true meaning of a site, without major investments from webmasters. Most web sites are not Semantic Web friendly or even aware but clearly all web sites contain Domain specific ‘knowledge’, the recent debates suggest that most will not bend to the requirements of coding meta-data into their pages. This is why we decided to pursue a ‘Top Down’ Semantic Web Application approach.

Organic Search has been completely nuts lately, with reports that the top SE has lost control of its data, a reminder that the search paradigm is liquid. There are a few impressive trailblazers in the Semantic Web solution space but SemWeb still is a bit too much science for most. Nobody can really dispute the value of a web that can perform some level of Artificial Intelligence, still few are willing to accomodate it.

At RSS, we say, Bring on the ‘Intelligent web’ … we are ready . Are you?

BlogTalk 2008 Summary

March 30th, 2008

This post was created by the WordPress SIOC Import plugin based on this SIOC RDF data describing a post located at http://www.johnbreslin.com/blog/2008/03/25/blogtalk-2008-summary/.

Well, I’ve been on a well-deserved break (in my opinion anyway!) for the past two weeks so it’s time that I caught up with all the stuff I’ve only been tweeting about in the meantime…

20080325a.png

First up, it’s a summary of BlogTalk (and WebCamp). Actually, a lot of people have blogged about the event, including Martha Rotter (who has a great overview), Mark Bernstein (with some valid criticisms regarding the conference’s focus that we need to look at; see also Mark’s vidcast), Salim Ismail, Stephanie Booth (1 , 2; thanks for the videos!), Will Knott, Phil Whitehouse (1, 2), Jure Cuhalev, Jan Schmidt, Donncha O Caoimh, Sven Latham, Ben Ward, and Gabriela Avram (1, 2, 3, 4).

But I’ll add to these voices by saying that I was very pleased with how things went: the atmosphere was quite relaxed (at least, outside the confines of my own head), and the size was probably just right (sometimes you can’t plan these things). Although we had about 110-115 registrants, there were about 80-85 present at any one time, and I think the audience felt comfortable with posing questions to speakers (and to each other) which led to more interactive sessions than there may have been otherwise. The panel discussions also went quite well, and I hope that we will have more of these in future events. As regards next year’s conference, we have had an interesting offer to host the event in Korea. We are also looking at Seville for BlogTalk 2010.

Unfortunately, I incorrectly thought that Intruders.TV would be recording the talks from the event, but some entrepreneuring attendees managed to video some of the talks using a combination of webcams and cameras (see the videos and slides page for those that we’ve managed to gather so far; if you have any more, please let us know; I believe Intruders.TV will have interviews with some of our speakers later). You can also view an assortment of photos via Flickr.

On behalf of the programme chairs for BlogTalk 2008, I would like to thank all of the participants at the conference, our invited speakers, the presenters, our reviewers, the excellent hotel staff, and especially our sponsors (without whom the fees would have significantly increased since they paid for two thirds of our almost €30k budget). Finally, I would like to ask attendees if they would be so kind as to complete our post-conference survey here.

Semantic Web CMS v0.4 | SEYE

December 10th, 2007

New version 0.5 Beta is here!

Folks,We are proud to release SEYE v0.4 beta, featuring improvements to the AS1 module. Firefox is required for full functionality. Click Graphic below to launch.

1. Select the AC1 module or GC1 module

2. Collect RDF in Ontology viewer (TagCloud)

Click Here for limited time Demo - SEYE

There are many reasons the URI may not load (or even pop out of the frame). Always remember to add the trailing forward slash if you are examining a domain, ie. http://www.website.com/. If the URI does load, it might not scrape, again, there are many reasons for this outside of SEYE’s control. If all goes well, in the Cloud you should see the site under test as an Ontology (Concepts and Knowledge). “When it works … it’s like capturing the web sites Soul”. In future versions, you will be able to export the Cloud as SIOC keywords, a scot Ontology TagCloud, ROR sitemap, basically any RDF or xml you wish.

At a glance, the better the semantic structure of the URI, the better readability in the Cloud (Ontology). More on interpreting the Cloud later (it is much more than just a keyword density analyzer). Enjoy!

Semantic Web CMS v0.4 | SEYE

Affordable SEO

December 4th, 2007

Folks,

For many, the question is “Where can I find Affordable SEO Services”? For others, they may be asking “Can I afford to keep my current SEO provider”? When it comes to SEO Prices, it is all about return on investment (ROI), there are tremendous opportunities for web marketers in Organic Search but do your Search Marketing specialists advise you of trends in Semantic Web technologies? The point is, what you are really paying for is an SEO firms current knowledge and constant research of Search Marketing methods. If SemWeb is not part of their vocabulary, they probably aren’t doing the necessary research.

As our Forum approaches 100 users (many entitled to premium services) we begin to notice a trend of entrepreneurs interested in ways they can use SemWeb tools to improve SE rankings.

Look no further, finding cutting edge web specialists (semantic web engineers) could not be easier … just ask in our Forum and there is a good chance someone will help you make sense of it all.

Semantic Web Content Management System

October 17th, 2007

NEW:
This project has moved into the ‘SEYE’ phase, adding the central control module.

For our purposes, the MindMap (Brain) is a start point and an end point, it can have branches and may contain annotations or website scrapes (simile). You may apply any rules you wish to its construction, for example, I tend to put ‘things to do’ in a cloud on the right and ‘things to think about’ in a cloud on the left. It is an Ontology. ‘Lenses’ may be applied to illuminate data, facilitate protocol etc. there are many planned options.

The Semantic Field (TagCloud) is configurable, it shares the Ontology/s and can be a control point for aggregation (RDF and non-RDF), the inference layer and the tree (publishing), hence it is a CMS. Ontology’s may be loaded and unloaded, modified and shared.
